2010 Day 3 – Copley via Wilpena Pound, Flinders Ranges
It was a long and eventful day on the open road but we’ve made it here, all together, eventually. Our days are shaping up sort of like this. 1st hour – leave the campsite slowly with intentions of finding breakfast and beloved coffee. 2010 – Day 3 – Broken Hill to Copley
It was a relaxed start to the day at our campsite in Broken Hill – i think everyone managed to sleep quite well after the festivities yesterday. Our resident dress up queens have suprised us again with a fabulous Grease themed outfits. The pink ladies. 2010 – Day 2 – Nyngan to Broken Hill via Silverton
Wow what a day, after a shaky start from the frivolities of last night we set off on the Barrier Highway to Broken Hill. We had a beautifully hot and sunny day with a lot of open road and large trucks. The floods in NSW have turned what would normally be a sea of red earth into a lush carpet of green grass and bushes for as far as the eye can see. A rare sight. 2010 – We’ve arrived safe and sound in Nyngan
We’ve arrived. I’m sitting here at the Nyngan RSL beer in hand surrounded by pirates, sailors and perverts so i’ve just been told by the captain at my shoulder. 2010 – Day 1 – the big send off.
Thank you to everyone that came to see us off. And thank you to those teams that dressed up for the occasion there were certainly a few special photo ops. Black leather and full body suit anyone? After months of preparation, fundraising and silly antics we are finally on the road. We’re about 2.5 hours out of Sydney on our way to Bathhurst for lunch and a quick lap.
