Sponsors & Media

Sponsors

The rally receives a lot of media coverage and interest via social networks so there are some great ways in which we can work with you to gain targeted marketing initiatives for your company.
In 2011 we had 109 teams with 250 participants and had massive media coverage.  For the 2012 rally we will have 150 teams and approximately 400 participants, but the important thing to realise is the reach of the rally and it’s participants.  The target audience for the rally are those that we reach via our marketing efforts.  The participants are a small number, but with the promotion they and the rally do we cover a very wide area.

The 7 days of the rally itself is only one part of the overall period in which sponsors can benefit from involvement.  Over the course of the year each team will be conducting fundraising activities that will promote the rally further, as will all of our social networks, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr etc and our own PR machine.

We can provide you with a breakdown of the media coverage we gained in the 2011 rally as well as a full sponsorship presentation.  Please contact James on 0410852199 or email James@shitboxrally.com.au

We’re Famous!

In 2011 alone Shitbox Rally achieved almost 3 million views/listeners across many of Australia’s biggest media outlets, being spotted and snapped all over Australia!

The 2011 rally went off with a bang with Channel 9’s Weekend Today Show, Channel 9 news and Channel 10’s news team turning up in Brisbane to see what all the fuss was about!  Both crews interviewed some of the loud and leary participants as well as James Freeman as they prepared to hit the dust for a great cause.  Those two segments alone broadcast Shitbox Rally to over 1.2 million viewers across the country.

Our hard working team at ICON helped us conduct radio interviews on the road with national radio stations Triple J and ABC radio, which along with additional regional radio amounted in over 850,000 listeners during our journey.

Shitbox Rally also received over 30 pieces of coverage in the print media; we were even featured in TopGear Australia! Newspapers like the Brisbane Times, The Sydney Morning Herald, Northern Territory News, The Darwin Sun and Newcastle Herald interviewed our teams and helped spread the hype.

People have been talking about us online too, with 25 articles on sites like Nova FM online, Time Out Brisbane and WA Today. Along with more than a dozen blogs reporting our every move, YouTube, online videos and Flickr exploded with over 45,000 views between them.

With numbers like these, Shitbox Rally is driving more and more awareness each year for the Cancer Council’s vital work towards finding a cure for cancer.
