They provided a beautiful soundtrack to the incredible scenery we encountered between Melbourne and Cairns and with many of them being local and independent artists, they reflected the core essence of the the rally and the people involved. Hats off to you all!

If you’re an artist and keen to submit your music for the 2013 rally, please keep an eye on the website and Facebook page where we’ll do a callout for music a few months before the next rally starts.

Well that’s it for another year. The 2012 Shitbox Rally is done and dusted. We’re still receiving donations and we should have a final figure for you in the coming weeks. We’ll be launching the 2013 Shitbox Rally in the next few months, so keep an eye on this site for more updates.

Shitbox Rally.

The final day of the 2012 Shitbox Rally and our drivers are looking forward to the cruisy 260km drive into Cairns where the relaxation and partying can begin.

It’s the penultimate day of the 2012 Shitbox Rally. The weary drivers and worn out cars are all a bit dusty and tired from five long days of driving through the bush. Tyres have shredded, cars have died, drivers’ arms have tanned but their spirits are high as Cairns is almost in their headlights.

You’d think that after such a hard week the last thing someone would want to do is sign up for another Rally, but in this video we’ll meet two Shitbox Alumni teams, who both took part in last year’s rally: One team driving the same car as they did in 2011 and the other with a pair of modified Nissan Micras with some donated turbochargers. And making sure everyone is kept safe is the iced confectionary flavoured medical grade Mr Whippy team.

The people of Wentworth took good care of us and our Shitboxes. Thanks for showing us a great night. Today the Rally headed north for Tibooburra, taking the cars through Broken Hill and then giving them their first taste of serious dirt roads.
